Description This is a sepia-toned photographic print of Mabel Powell Hillmer which may have been created by taking a photograph of a photograph. Mabel's long hair is pulled into an updo, she is wearing strings of pearls and what appears to be a formal dress. She is seated and the photograph is taken from her chest up. One arm is crossed in front of her and the other is raised touching her neck.
Admin/Biographical History Mabel Powell (1881-1909) was the first wife of Robert Benjamin Hillmer (1874-1959), having married on April 20, 1904, and the mother of Elizabeth Audrey Hillmer (Mrs. Carl Heilig) and George Powell Hillmer). She was a resident of Southampton and died at the young age of 28.
