Description A Canadian National Telegram sent from Harold Seabrook to his mother, Mrs. W.J. Seabrook, in Southampton. It was sent from Moncton, New Brunswick, on December 31, 1943 and indicates:

"Dear Family Happy New Year to All Tell Norm will be in Moncton for a time tell him to let me know when he is on the way back might be able to see him. Harold Seabrook."





Admin/Biographical History Harold Stanley Seabrook was born in Thunder Bay in 1924. His parents were Eleanor Emily May Seabrook and William James Seabrook. His siblings were Norman William, Kathleen (Kay) Alice and Allan Roy. In 1935 the family moved from Hornepayne, Ontario to Toronto. In 1939 they moved to Southampton. Harold joined the RCAF in 1942. Harold arrived in England in winter of 1944. On April 12, 1944 the Halifax Bomber Harold was travelling in struck a hill, killing all on board. (SOURCE: "In memory of Harold Stanley Seabrook").
Provenance The item appears in "In memory of Harold Stanley Seabrook;" a booklet created by Allan Seabrook (donor) and Gale Douglass, daughter of Marg Saunders, who received a doily from Harold in 1942 (pictured on pg. 10 of booklet). The item was passed through the family to the donor, who is Harold's younger brother.
