Front cover title: "Ojebway Hymns." This book contains 129 hymns in both English Ojibwa languages.
Inscribed inside the front cover "June 10, 1892, William Sa[?]vage, Indian Missionary" in fountain pen ink. Inscribed in pencil: "Rev. Smith, Milton, Ont.," "William Sanage [or Savage?], Saugeen, Ontario," followed by a list of other reverends, barely legible.
Inscribed inside back cover: "David, May 12th, 1895, Sunday night lead by brother Solomon James."
|Provenance||An inscription on the cover page reads "This book belongs to Mrs. [illegible] Heffernan, Chippawa Hill, Ont., bought from the caretaker of the Indian Church in the person of Mr. William Suivon, 1898." This item was purchased at a Grasser Auction sale in August 1952 by Donald B. Shutt, Southampton. It was presented to the Southampton Museum section of the Public Library by D.B. Shutt in August 1952, and then transferred to the Bruce County Museum in 1955.|
