The register records the number, date of departure, rig and name of vessel, master's name, destination, under what flag, with cargo or in ballast, under transire (tons, crew), and under coating license (tons, crew). Financial journal, showing accounts for a number of individuals who appear to be from the Kincardine and Inverhuron areas, for product initially related to fish, vegetables and dry goods; later related to alcohol, such as whiskey, sherry wine, scotch and brandy (1880s). The journal also records board paid and accounts paid through work. The journal includes individual named accounts, as well as accounts for the Schooner "Helen" and "Caulker on board the 'Stanley'". Enclosed in the journal were two notes addressed to "Kincardine, Mr. Turner", 1886, regarding bill of tanning, sheep skins, calf skins from "R. & F. Sellery"

Finally, the book includes a list of stations at which storm signals are displayed across Canada, including Southampton, Kincardine, Goderich, Cabots Head, Tobermory and Wiarton in Bruce County.
