Leeder family fonds - Leeder family fonds

This fonds consists mainly of correspondence between the Leeder family over five generations (1834 - 1937) from Saugeen Township, England, America, Cuba and France; the personal journals of Nathaniel Leeder and Ed Leeder (1854 - 1904) detailing their experiences in Saugeen Township; and over one hundred years of Leeder family accounts and business transactions in England and Ontario (1830 - 1949). Also included in the fonds are photographs and some miscellaneous personal records pertaining to the family. Cover title "Common Prayer, The Hymn Book". Title page title "The book of common prayer and administration of the sacraments and other rites and ceremonies of the Church according to the use of The Church of England." It was published by The Musson Book Company Ltd., Toronto and printed by Oxford University Press. This book has a dark brown or faded black leather cover with embossed gold cross in lower right corner and gold lettering on cover. The inscription on the page facing the title page reads "Captain Wm. McG. Lambert, Southampton, Ont., Dec. 11, 1909," indicating it belonged to Captain William MacGregor Lambert, who was lighthouse keeper at Chantry Island, 1880-1907.
