Description Photograph featuring the McTavish boring machine which was used for making wooden water piping and pumps. The machine is made of wood and metal and has a crank on the side. On a shelf behind the machine are wooden mallets.

Provenance The Pump boring machine was purchased "used" from Purdy Pump Company of Chesley and was operated between 1911 and 1947 by the late Robert J. McTavish, Sr. of Chesley. It is believed that the machine dates from the 1890s.
