This black soft-covered notebook has "Red Cross Minutes" inscribed inside the front cover. It contains minutes reflecting the order of business of the Allenford Red Cross Society meetings from January 22, 1940 to July 1946. The group met every few months and engaged in fundraising and other work related to the Second World War (WWII). Includes finanicial reports. The organizational minutes indicate that this group was organized for the "Purpose of organizing for War Work" The group also provided aid for those in need in the community. This "Account Book" contains a recording of receipts and expenditures by day from 1914 to 1946 in relation to the McKenzie family farm at Concession 5, Lot 23, Culross Township. Expenditures include references to wages (including employee names), oats and other payments. Receipts include references to the sale of livestock, using terms such as: cattle, steer, cow, heifer, bull, and bull calves. A page at the end of the book is entitled "Women's Red Cross Society, 4th Con. Culross" and lists receipts and expenditures from December 1916 to April 1917 during the World War I. Approximately 80 pages are written on in the book.
