Description A Memorial Cross; decoration is a cross with concaved ends. On the top end of the cross is a crown, on the other three ends is a maple leaf. In the centre of the cross is "GVIR". Behind the cross a laurel. Engraved on the back of the decoration is CAPT. G.A. EATON M.C." Stamped into the back is "STERLING". At the top of the cross is a small hoop through which a purple satin ribbon is attached.

Part B: Case is rectangular in shape, has rounded corners and is covered in leatherette. On the top is a gold crown. The top is lined with a beige satin. The bottom is lined with a beige velvet insert.

Presented to the Mother of, or Widow, of a fallen soldier
Provenance The Memorial Cross was awarded to Captain George A. Eaton for valor and bravery during service. Eaton was killed in action in 1945 during the Second World War.
George A. Eaton served with the Royal Canadian Artillery, 2nd Field Regiment.
