Negative photographs taken at the fashion show held by the I.O.D.E. in 1967. A2013.012.10201: Three ladies standing wearing the clothing of 1867. A2013.012.10202: A lady wearing a fashionable long dress stands on a runway. Women are seated on either side of the runway watching the show, A2013.012.10203: Four women, one seated at a small table and three standing behind. Two of the women are holding papers. There is a microphone beside the table. A2013.012.10204: Three women wearing outfits from the 1860's while two women standing to the rear are wear clothing of North American Indigenous women. A2013.012.10205: A woman, (Mrs. Gladys Eby), standing at the base of a staircase, wearing a long formal gown while holding a bouquet of flowers. A2013.012.10206: Four women wearing costumes circa 1867, stand at the base of a staircase. A2013.012.10207:Seven women wearing period costumes stand behind a garden trellis set up on a elevated runway.(The woman in the white dress standing in the centre is Mrs. Gladys Eby. A2013.012.10208: Two women in period costumes with young woman standing between them, pose at the bottom of a staircase. A2013.012.10209: Two women applying makeup to two other women in preparation for the fashion show. A2013.012.10210: Three women and two young women dressed in fashions of 1867pose for the camera at the bottom of a staircase. A2013.012.10211: Six women in 1867 period costumes pose at the bottom of a staircase. A2013.012.10212: Three women in period costumes pose on different levels of a staircase. A2013.012.10213: One woman in costume sits, while another woman stands while styling her hair. A2013.012.10214: Two women in period costume pose in a hallway. A2013.012.10215:A woman in a long white summer dress and ornate feathered hat walks along the runway while the audience applauds. A2013.012.10216: A woman wearing a long white dress and tiara, stands by a garden gazebo before walking down a runway, women on either side of the runway watch. A2013.012.10217: A woman in long formal dress with train and tiara poses at the base of a staircase. A2013.012.10218: A woman in a long dark coloured dress poses on a staircase. A2013.012.10219: I.O.D.E. Essay Awards winners on the topic "A History of Your Community" in the Junior and Senior classes. These negatives were part of a collection of over 20,000 images captured by teacher and photographer J. Lindsay Thornburn from 1950-1983. They were originally housed in an envelope with handwritten title "Portraits of the Past I.O.D.E. 1967." which was in a container bearing a date of 1967. |
