Description |
A letter addressed "To Mr. John Thompson, Dear Friend and Fellow Member," advising of the Church learning that he had "enlisted with the Bruce Boys in the 160th Battalion" and its desire to express its sincere appreciation of your nobility of character ..." and providing words of encouragement "remembering that you are taking an active part in a Holy War, a war of righteousness against unrighteousness, for freedom against bondage, for Liberty against tyranny and oppression ..." "We ask you to accept this wrist watch as a Remembrance and mark of appreciation of the Y.P. Guild of St. Paul's Church, Glamis." Signed by Dane Robertson, Mrs. P. Keith, and Maude McKay of the Y.P. Guild of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Glammis, Ontario. The three pages are tied with a red ribbon and feature an illustration of a Union Jack flag at the top centre (which appears to be hand-drawn and coloured). |
