Description |
This folder contains letters, by-law booklet, notices and minutes related to discuss the merger between the Port Elgin Co-operative and the Paisley Co-operative to create the Saugeen Valley Co-operative. 5 letters 1. Letter dated January 14, 1961 and discusses sending a copy of the deed and membership loan certificates. 2. Letter in response to the first dated January 18, 1961 from the Co-operative Union of Ontario "to acknowledge receipt with thanks duplicate copies of deeds" from the Paisley Co-operative. 3. The third letter is from the Co-operative Union of Ontario titled "Re: Paisley Co-operative Association - Surrender of Charter" dated February 13, 1962. 4. This two-page carbon copy titled "Re: Paisley Co-operative Association" dated April 17, 1961 and regarding the O.C.C.S. [Ontario Co-operative Credit Society]. 5. The fifth is a letter regarding the Port Elgin property and dated, and post marked, April 17, 1961. 1 packet of documents consisting of a 13 pages of information about the merger. These documents are as follows: 2 letters, the first dated October 23, 1961 and titled "Re: Paisley Co-operative Association / Surrender of Charter" the second a response to the first dated October 27, 1961 1 bylaw booklet titled "Co-operative / By-Laws / Port Elgin Co-operative / Incorporated" which is dated February 1, 1959 3 copies of the "Notice of Special General Meeting / of Members" for the Paisley - Co-operative, dated May 13, 1961 3 copies of the "twenty-seventh / Annual Meeting / of the Port Elgin Co-operative" which was held May 31, 1961 3 pages of minutes from the "Port Elgin Co-operative Inc. / Directors' Meeting May 16, 1961" Accompanying the packet is one loose letter which is a response to the letter titled "Re: Paisley Co-operative Association / Surrender of Charter" dated November 22, 1961. |
