Description |
This volume is part of series 2 (Saugeen First Nation and Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation related documents), file 1 (Saugeen Nawash claims). The volume consists one folder containing documents numbered intermittently from 2513-2882, copied from microfilm and resources held at the National Archives of Canada (now Library and Archives Canada), including material chiefly from NAC's reference number RG 10, including parts of the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development fonds. The documents concern tribes of the Ojibway Nation, including Saugeen First Nation. Colpoy's Bay Band, and Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation. Includes copies of speech, petitions, reports and correspondence between Department of Indian Affairs and various bands concerning government policy, cultural relations, and the lands and livelihoods of the First Nation people. Some documents have yellow post-it notes containing handwritten notes made by Dr. Schmalz. |
