This video recording documents part one of the ceremony, hosted by Southampton's Marine Heritage Committee and the Propeller Club, marking the completion of the Chantry Island light keeper’s cottage and grounds restoration project and its official opening. Also includes footage from the boat ride across Lake Huron to Chantry Island and visitors arriving on the island. Featured guests were family members of former lighthouse keepers, such as the Knechtel family. The ceremony started with speeches and music in Pioneer Park.
