Description |
This "Educational Resources Inventory - Bruce County and Neighbouring Areas" inventory inventory was prepared to provide teachers with comprehensive information on a wide variety of local resources which might be used to extend, enrich or illustrate the school curriculum. It was financed by a Federal Local Initiatives Project Grant. A staff of five researchers assembled the information which was then edited by a consultative committee of County teachers. (From the Introduction) The inventory covers Bruce County in detail plus Owen Sound and area, Hanover and area as well as a small number of other significant sites outside the County. Items in the inventory have been classified into the following categories: community service, historical, industrial, natural, resource persons, organizations. They have also been indexed according to location (township and town). For each item, the inventory provides a concise description of the services or interest value of the resource. This often includes a brief history of the location. |
