For more information about the Archives' approach to language used in transcripts and descriptions of historical records, see BCM&CC's Descriptive Language Statement] This scrapbook contains newspaper clippings, photographs and notes, generally created between 1951 and 1965, concerning the history and events of the former Township of Bruce, which later formed part of the Municipality of Kincardine. It also contains handwritten notes made by Bruce Krug about local history discussions following visits with local residents, including: James Legate, August 1954 George Seiffert, August 1954 Fraser Farrell, April 1955 Mrs. George McFarlane, May 1956 Stanley Swass, May 1956 Albert Abbs, June 1956 Jim McGillivray, July 1957 Joe Wrightson, November 1959 Ewart Tennyson, May 1963 Original photographs include: Page 63: Log building west of Glammis Page 65: Log house on 10th Concession, Bruce Twp., Log fence, 5th Concession Page 67: Brick church building Page 103: Log building on 10th Concession, and Barn foundation Page 105: Queen Hill Presbyterian Church (1957) Page 111: William West log house Page 116: Log house Topics of articles and interviews include Douglas Point / Bruce Nuclear Power Development, rural life, events, people, local development, industry, barn building, fire destroying Gray Castle / Grey Castle, ships, shipwrecks (Erie Belle) and marine accidents, and churches.
