Description |
Colourized "Private Post Card" featuring a view down the centre of Goderich Street, Port Elgin, during the late 1890s or early 1900s. The dirt road is lined by sidewalks, utility poles and buildings, many with awnings. The first awning on the right side bears the word "Millinery." A message on the back is addressed to Miss Maggie Menzies from W.M.M., postmarked AU 01 06. This item is part of a postcard album created by Margaret Menzies (married name: Margaret Esplen), while she was teaching at Hope Bay School, S.S. No. 7 Albemarle (see A996.016.002.) |
