Description |
A history of Stokes Bay village and area on the Bruce Peninsula. From the Foreward: "Much of Stokes Bay village history was gathered in response to the wishes of Lady Tweedsmuir, wife of Canada's Governor General, that the Women's Institutes in each locality collect village history so that it was preserved...Articles from the Tweedsmuir History Book were quoted in the local history book, "Benchmarks", put out by the Township of Eastnor and the Village of Lion's Head. Since Stokes Bay and the areas close by had plenty of stories still to be told and published, the author of this book got under way to have this book printed, "featuring as much of Stokes Bay history as possible." |
