The Grey-Bruce Arts Council notes, on the reverse, that this is a cultural map that is an example of the creative co-operation of visual artists, writers and cartographers presenting research by historians, conservationists and arts groups with the aid of Native People and the Province of Ontario, directed through two years of effort by the Arts Council to enhance public appreciation of the wealth of life in Grey and Bruce. Numbers on the face of the map, and legends on the reverse, indicate towns, villages, bays, lakes, and points; places of interest; historic plaques; museums & art galleries; trails and rural resorts; national, provincial and county parklands; and architectural and archeological sites (including churches, old commercial buildings, historic houses, marine wrecks, mills and dams) across Grey and Bruce counties. On the bottom front under the heading "See the evolution of Ontario Indians: their past, present and their future" is textual information about Nodwell Indian Camp Site, Cape Croker Tourist Camp Grounds, and Chippewa Hill Amphitheatre. |
