These two duotangs are part of in series 2, file 1 (Saugeen First Nation and Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation related documents - Saugeen Nawash claims.) Each duotang contains a photocopy of "Family Grouping List", published by Government of Canada - Indian and Northern Affairs, December 1979. It lists "Registered Indians as of December 31, 1979" for Bruce District, "Chippewas of Nawash Band" and "Saugeen Band." Information provided in the list includes surname, given names, birth date, religion, marital status, residence and sex. Duotang 1 - A2010.099.1020a: also contains a list entitled "Foreign Potawatomi from U.S.A." inserted into the back of the duotang. The list includes Occupant's Name; Time on Lot; Place of Birth; and Age. A sticky note is also found on reverse of final page in duotang listing surnames and numbers at Cape Croker. Duotang 2 - A2010.099.1020b: On this copy, Dr. Schmalz has added a column to each page of the list entitled "USA" and he has placed a checkmark in this column in relation to some of the names. |
