This folder contains correspondence concerning the hiring of Norman McLeod to write volume two of "The History of Bruce County".

1967 - BCHS seeks Norman McLeod's expression of interest. Lettes include his reply and reports on his progress on writing volume two.

1967 - Fritz Knechtel refers McLeod to Indian agents, chiefs and Dr. Frank Morton and names subjects of interest.

1967 - Appeal to Women's Institutes of Bruce County.

1967 - Request to Bruce County Council to receive the $3,000 grant for the McLeod project.

1968 - McLeod estimates the book may be 450 pages. His reports on number of chapters written.

1968 - Printing quotation from Richardson, Bond & Wright gives 3,000 copies at $3.55 each.

1968 - Undated contract detailing payments to McLeod for writing the book.

1969 - Appeal to Bruce County Council for $7,000 grant.

1969 - McLeod gives the manuscript to Richardson, Bond & Wright on Apr. 29, 1969.

1969 - BCHS authorizes printing of 4,000 copies on June 10.

1969 - BCHS regulations re using invoices and receipt forms.

1969 - Richardson, Bond & Wright ship a quantity of books on Nov. 18.

1970 - Requests to buy both volumes of the Bruce County history, and need to reprint volume one. Slow distribution of books to stores.

1971 - McLeod requests rest of first year's royalties. His account of payments received.

1973 - Rod McLeod asks for records of numbers of book which Norman McLeod had at his house in Toronto for local sales.

1980, 1981 - Letters from Mary McLeod thanking BCHS for [royalty] cheques.
