Description |
This black soft-covered notebook has "Red Cross Minutes" inscribed inside the front cover. It contains minutes reflecting the order of business of the Allenford Red Cross Society meetings from January 22, 1940 to July 1946. The group met every few months and engaged in fundraising and other work related to the Second World War (WWII). Includes finanicial reports. The organizational minutes indicate that this group was organized for the "Purpose of organizing for War Work" The group also provided aid for those in need in the community. Minutes list executive members by surname, including: Aiken, Diebel, Broadfoot, Blakely, Rowe, Evans, Craig, Wain, Walker, Forsythe, McCulloch, Ryckman Enclosed in the bookelt were two newspaper clippings: "Allenford Red Cross Contributors" for 1944 and 1945 listing names of people and the amount of funds donated. |
