This collection of letters was written to Marjorie (Bangay) Collins from her aunt Olive McLaughlin in Scone. 2 letters written on thick paper with a picture of the bird and a flower in the bottom left corner. The first is dated January 2, 1987 and addressed to "All the Collins family". The post mark on the envelope of the second letter is dated January 14, 1987. The letter is addressed to "Marj and all the Collins'". These letters discuss the past holiday season and the health of family and friends. 1 letter written on yellow paper for "Marj and Bill" and dated August 22, 1991. Attached is a note written on white paper and dated August 29, 1991. This letter discusses her hobby of botany. 1 letter dated "Fri 28/96" and addressed to "Collins". This letter discusses a pet of Olive's named Snowball and the health of relatives. 2 letters dated February 1998 addressed to Marjorie. The first letter is written on white paper and dated February 13, 1998 and discusses the weather and the ongoings in Scone. The second is written on yellow paper and dated February 28, 1998. This letter discusses the weather and traffic. There are a few letters that are undated. These include: 1 written in blue pen on white paper addressed to Marjorie which discusses the melting snow and an upcoming visit of Marjorie and her sister Marion to Scone. 1 thank you card addressed to Marjorie and discusses the recently passed Christmas, the weather, and her pet Snowball. 1 letter written on brown paper to Mary and All. The letter discussed a birthday party Olive was invited to and painting her cottage. The letter is signed "Snowball [and] Aunt Olive". 2 letters on yellow paper attached to envelopes which do not have any dates. Both are addressed to Marjorie. One includes Olive's phone number and discusses some phone trouble that Bill Bangay was having. The second letter discusses family members and some information she read in the newspaper. |
