A2020.083.028.001 - Video recording documenting an interview with John Borrows, Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Law at the University of Victoria and member of the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation. Interview discusses the history and sources of Anishinaabe law, the infrastructure and resource development in the Saugeen Ojibway Nation Territory, and the arrival of the French fur traders. Also discusses the commercial fishing industry and land and resources treaties most notably the treaty of 1854. References the introduction of Methodism within the Anishinaabe culture.
