Microfilm of Minute books of the Township of Arran, Bruce County, for 1858-1860 and 1886-1918, reflecting the meetings, motions and decisions of township council.

The minutes from 1858 to 1860 include Minutes of the United Townships of Arran, Amabel & Albemarle, as Arran Township was the senior township in that union.

Admin/Biographical History

In 1857, Amabel Township, to the north, united with Arran Township. In 1858, Albemarle Township also joined the union. The three townships remained united, with Arran Township as the senior township, until January 1, 1861 when Arran Township returned the status of an independent and separate municipality.

This roll was filmed by the Genealogical Society of Utah in the 1950s or 1960 and purchased from Family Search by the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre in 2012.
