"Private Postal Card" featuring a view of Chantry Island Lighthouse and lightkeeper's house taken from the south side of the Island. A man is standing on a rock in Lake Huron near the shore. Bushes are in the foreground. A message dated July 3, 1906 begins to the right of the image. A message on the back is addressed to Maggie B. Menzies, c/o John McEwing, from L.P.M., postmarked JY 03 06. This item is part of a postcard album created by Margaret Menzies (married name: Margaret Esplen), while she was teaching at Hope Bay School, S.S. No. 7 Albemarle (see A996.016.002.) |
