Admin/Biographical History |
Donald Cameron, also known as Dan Cameron, operated general stores at Underwood in Bruce County, Ontario. In particular, from approximately 1886 until at least 1890, he operated the store at the corner of Mill Street and Highway 21 (part of Lot 6, Concession 6, Bruce Township). By September 1893, he had moved to Hepworth and bought the General Store at the Railway Crossing from James Vance. After his retirement in the early 1900s, his son William carried on the business until 1923. Aubrey and Mary Mercer from Owen Sound bought the store from Mr. Cameron in April 1923, and operated it till November 1967.
