Description |
This folder consists predominantly of forms titled " Searches made prior to the issuing of tax deed", most of which have an attached certificate(s) for lands sold for taxes completed by the Bruce County Treasurer. Other related documents such as correspondence and postage receipts are attached to a small number of forms. The forms identify the date on which the land was sold for taxes in 1919, the applicant for the deed, the name of the registered owner, the date of search, the lot, municipality, and address of the land, and an itemized list of fees. The date of search is most often in a later year. The certificates identify the purchaser, purchase price, and legal property description. Most certificates also list the purchaser's town or village of residence, and some list their occupation or title. A small number of the certificates are under Municipal Corporations.
