James A. Robinson acted as post master from his home on Concession A, Lots 52 & 53, Kincardine. This was the first post office in Kincardine Township run from a person's home. His wife was the former Johannah (Hannah) McLeod. His parents were James McConnelly Robinson and Jane McLelland. James and Hannah's son, Orville began delivering the mail by horse as early as age 14. He eventually took over the route. Orville was the donor's father. He married Jessie Norma MacArthur. Sarah Jane Robinson (who married Albert Ritchie) was the daughter of James Robinson and Johannah (Hannah) McLeod. |
