The Port Elgin Lawn Bowling Club started in 1904. In 2004, the town of Port Elgin closed their greens and eventually joined the Southampton Lawn Bowling Club in 2009 to form the Saugeen Shores Lawn Bowling Club.

Records in the scrapbook were collected and compiled by Helen Wuerth who was a member of the Port Elgin Lawn Bowling Club and club secretary from 1995-2000. It is also believed that most of the original photographs were taken by Helen Wuerth.
