Description |
Pencil copy of "Plan of the strip land lately surrendered by the Saugeeng Indians" surveyed in 1852, made for Dr. D.B. Shutt. This map, on tracing paper, features the "Indian Path" from "Saugeen Indian Village" to "Newash Indian Village" north of Owen Sound. It also shows lot numbers along the border between Arran and Amabel Township, and Derby Township concession numbers. In lower left corner: "Copy by R.M. Lewis, Department of Planning and Development, Conservation Branch, Toronto. From original survey, January 17, 1852, C. Rankin, surveyor, 40 chains = 1 inch." This item is part of the Krug family fonds, series 4, file 1 (historical papers and research - maps and plans). |
