These photocopied documents contain information that relates to the history of the Adair quarry near Hope Bay. These documents include: 5 newspaper clippings discussing the use of Adair marble in the Canadian Embassy in Washington D.C. The articles are titled "Project an example of marble's revival", "Bruce Peninsula limestone groomed for our new embassy in Washington", "Bruce County marble goes to Washington" dated 1988, "Where's the Erikson we thought we knew?" dated 1989, and "Embassy shows off Canadian art, technology" dated 1989. 3 photocopied newspaper articles titled "large stone quarried" dated 1982, "Local rock top for PM's desk" dated 1981, and "Bruce stone rebuilding the Rideau" dated 1982. 1 magazine titled "The Canadian Architect: A Southam Business Publication July 1989" which features the Canadian Embassy in Washington D.C. made with Adair marble on page 19 |
