Description |
File 4 of Series 2 (Saugeen First Nation and Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation related documents) of the Peter Schmalz fonds consists of documents related to Experience '81, a work experience program for native children in collecting oral history of Saugeen First Nation and Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation. The program was funded through a provincial grant. The purposes of the project included providing career-related experience to students, as well as developing new resources and evaluating existing resources related to the two bands whose pupils attended Bruce County Schools. Dr. Peter S. Schmalz acted as project supervisor, with Suzanne Stump as project leader. Documents include grant proposal and application form, Experience '81 guidelines and handbook, draft reserve research questions, project leader notes, and an article about the program in Past & Present, a University of Waterloo publication. |
