Description |
File 6 of Series 2 (Saugeen First Nation and Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation related documents) of the Peter Schmalz fonds consists of photocopies of excerpts from 1851 census schedules concerning townships in Bruce and Grey counties, with reference to First Nations. Includes some portions of the agricultural schedule. Also includes 1871 federal census index search results for the search term "Indian," as well as a list with a note entitled "Census, Dec. 16/79, complete to this date." Includes pages copied from Library and Archives Canada microfilm entitled "Indian Affairs, Census Returns, c. 1833-1857" concerning areas outside of the Bruce County area. |
