W.D. Adams served during the First World War, having enlisted in January 1916. At that time, he listed his occupation as "Labourer." He served with the 138th Battalion 10th Canadian Infantry in France and suffered both the effects of being gassed in 1917 and shot in 1918. He was discharged as medically unfit in 1919 returned to Alberta, labouring to build the railroad from Edmonton to Jasper. He is recognized on Tobermory War Memorial as having been wounded in action. |
