Joseph served on the Council of Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation. first as a councillor from 1956-1960. He was also elected Chief of Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation, serving from 1967 to 1968. He supported surrounding communities in many ways as well, as a member of the Rotary Club, Bruce Trail Association, Bruce Conservation and Tourist Association, Children's Aid Society, and many more organizations through which he helped others. |
