During the Second World War he served in Cananda, England, France, Belgium, and Holland. He enlisted in the Canadian Army at London, Ontario on Feb. 6, 1941. He completed basic training at Royal Canadian Engineers at Petawawa, then took courses at Cornwall Technical School and Hamilton Trade School. After training at Barrified in mechanical transport he was graduated as a motor mechanic and transferred to the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME). He served in Canada, Britain, France, Belgium, and Holland. He was granted an Honourable Discharge on Sep. 26, 1945. Following his discharge he took over the family farm and continued to volunteer to serve his community in various organizations and municipal government. |
