Clarence served in the First World War with the 160th Bruce Battalion. He and his first wife, Hazel, kept a general store in Holstein for some years before coming to Tara, Ontario. Hazel passed away in 1952. In 1954, he married Beatrice Fenton. Clarence was a member of Tara United Church, the Masonic Lodge, the Orange Lodge, and Tara Rotary Society. He was a charter member of the Royal Canadian Legion and past president of the Tara Branch of the Legion. |
