Completed his public education in Wellington County. Attended Rockwood Academy. Graduated as a dentist in 1876. Graduated with a degree in Medicine from the University of Toronto in 1880. |
Occupation |
Dr. Fisher commenced practice as a dentist in the Town of Niagara in 1876. He held the position of Demonstrator at the Royal College of Dental Surgeons at Toronto from 1878 to 1883, when he also graduated from Medical School at the University of Toronto. He then worked as physician on one of the Dominion line of steamships running from Montreal to Liverpool. In 1884, he began practicing as a physician in Wiarton with Dr. Stewart. From that time, he also held the position of examiner in Surgery relating to dentistry at Toronto University for 10 years. He was also appointed Chief District Surgeon for the G.T.R. and fulfilled these positions until the time of his death. Dr. Fisher was Medical Health Officer for Wiarton for a number of years and served on the School Board from time to time as well. He contributed to St. John's United Church, Wiarton, and was a member of the Cedar Lodge Masonic Lodge. |
