He first acted as a teacher in Kincardine, Elsinore, Clarksburg and Embro, while studying for his B.A. degree. He then served as a lawyer in Paisley commencing in 1908. He served a brief stint as assistant city solicitor in Regina, SK in 1912, but returned to Paisley in 1913. He was also involved in Municipal Politics and was Reeve of Paisley from 1920-1924, and subsequently clerk of Bruce County from 1924 to 1952. He retired from active practice in 1960. |
