Roy Hacking was born in September 16, 1875 in Listowel, Ontario and spent summers in the Gobles Grove area of Port Elgin. His parents were John A. and Elizabeth Hacking of Listowel. He died at the age of 70 at the Owen Sound Hospital in 1944. He attended medical college in Toronto and practiced for a few years before moving to Lions Head. He then moved from Lions Head to Tara in 1919. He was medical officer of health for Tara and Arran Township at the time of his passing. He practiced as a family doctor in Tara for 23 years before his death. |
