On August 1, 1935, Edward Louis Johnston was born in Cape Croker, Bruce County, Ontario. Edward served with the Air Force and enlisted on January 30, 1953. He served with the 426 (T) Sqdn, 2 (F) Wing 416 Sqdn, RCAF Station Chatham, NB. Edward was in service in a number of countries which included: Aden, Canada, Congo, Egypt, France, Greenland, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Zambia. Edward received the following awards: Special Service Medal, Peacekeeping Medal, United Nations Yemen Observer Mission Medal, Canadian Decoration Medal and the Justice of the Peace. On February 9, 1973, Edward was discharged from the Air Force. He has been a member of the Wiarton Legion Branch 208 for three decades. |
