Andrew "Andy" McTavish attended Law School at Osgoode Hall and established a law office in Teeswater in 1939. In 1942, McTavish acted as manager of the South Bruce Telephone Company and continued with his law firm. In 1946, he became Reeve for Teeswater council, and was later elected Bruce County Warden in 1949 for one year. In 1951, McTavish bought a cottage on the beach in Port Elgin and then a 50 acre farm near Teeswater in 1954. He was a Returning Officer (for voting) in 1958. |
