He organized the No. 6 Tara Company of the 32nd Battalion under the command of Lieut. Col. Sproat. Morton remained in command until 1879, when he was appointed adjutant. In 1881, he became major. He retired from the force when leaving Ontario. He was killed in action during the North West Rebellion at Duck Lake. |
