On August 17, 1922, Sheldon Edwin Ribbel was born in Lion's Head, Ontario. Sheldon enlisted with the Royal Canadian Postal Corp in 1942. He served in World War II in Gander, Newfoundland until his discharge in 1945. After his discharge, Norman moved to Tobermory where he had a contract to carry Royal Mail between Wiarton and Tobermory. Sheldon was active in his community and served as coach of the Tobermory Flyers Hockey Team and as a member of the Tobermory Legion Branch 290. On February 27, 1984, Norman passed away. |
