Vivian enlisted in the R.C.A.F. a few months after her 19th birthday on April 26, 1943 (WWII). She attended Rockcliffe Airbase near Ottawa for basic training and a Filter Centre Operations course before being assigned to the West Coast of Canada. She spent most of her time in Victoria except for a stint in Prince Rupert. The coastal station work at Radar Central Control Command was of a highly secretive nature under the Official Secrets Act. Vivian spent most of her work years in the transportation industry. |
