He was a farmer, and was also involved in local politics. He served as councillor and was elected Reeve for terms 1914-1916, 1919-1924 and 1929-1931. He was Warden of Bruce County in 1924. He was elected to Ontario legislature in 1934 as a member for the Bruce riding. He was re-elected in 1937, but retired before the next election. |

Born and raised in Sullivan Township, Grey County. He came to Tara in the early 1900s and bought Lot 33, Concession 7 Arran Township. In 1938, he moved to Con. 7, Lot 26, Arran Township. |
