He enlisted in the Army on Dec. 11, 1941. He served in the Artillery in Holland, England, and Canada during World War II. He was severely injured with shrapnel wounds in the head, arm, and leg while in Belgium in 1944. After the war he sailed the Great Lakes, partnered with his brother Fred in International Harvester Company, and was Post Master of the Tara Post Office. He was a member of the Tara Legion Branch 383 for 42 years. |
