On November 26, 1924, Russell "Russ" Watson was born in Woodbridge, Ontario. Russ enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force on January 28, 1943. During World War II, he served in England and Europe and was discharged on October 13, 1945. Upon his return, Russ moverd to Tara, Ontario where he married and set up his own business, Tara Motors. He then established a second business which was as a partner/driver in MacDonald-Watson school bus lines. Russ was very involved in his community and served on town council as Reeve. For over a period of five decades, Russ was a member of the Tara Legion Branch 383. On June 10, 1997, Russ passed away at the Saugeen Memorial Hospital in Southampton. |
