This book is a history of the Kieffer family from its beginnings in Soufflenheim, Alsace, to the present generations (2009). Bruce County connection includes Kieffers in Formosa and Carrick Township as some of the first settlers there. Family members were very active in the communtity - for example, they were trustees of Carrick S.S. No. 9, and the Immaculate Conception Church in Formosa (one of its stained glass windows was donated by Ignatius Kieffer in 1893), director of Formosa Mutual Fire Insurance Co.stockholders of Formosa Oil Co. |
