This item is a studio portrait of a young man with dark hair, identified in the caption as A.E. Nelson. He is dressed in a suit and also has a band of fabric across his chest that may be part of academic regalia. The man is looking away from the camera, with his head turned to his right. The portrait is oval-shaped, and has been mounted onto two rectangular pieces of cardstock that have a marbled appearance.
